A 20-Year-Old House Shouldn't Back Up Like This

Gilbert is young for the Valley. U.S. Census data puts the median home's build year at 2003, so most sewer lines here aren't cracked clay or worn joints yet.
That changes what a clog usually is. In neighborhoods like Power Ranch and Seville, it's mostly what goes down the drain: wipes that never break down, grease from the kitchen, and lint from laundry lines. In the older lake communities like Val Vista Lakes, mature trees mean roots are starting to find the joints too.
A camera inspection tells the difference in minutes, and the fix follows: a cable for a single clog, or hydro jetting when grease or roots coat the whole line.

Where Gilbert's Drains Actually Go

Gilbert has reused 100% of its wastewater since 1986. Everything that leaves your drains is captured and treated, then used for irrigation or recharged into the aquifer.
Those lakes in HOA communities and on golf courses? They're reclaimed water, not drinking water. The town also runs four recharge facilities, which have put about 55 billion gallons back underground, including the Riparian Preserve, built in 1999 with seven recharge basins.
Grease, wipes and paper towels don't belong in that system any more than they belong in your pipes. They clog the town's lines just like yours.
Town Line or Your Line?

Gilbert splits it like this:
- Inside your property: backups, slow drains and main-line clogs from the house to the town's connection are private plumbing. That's us.
- In the street: sewage overflowing from a manhole, a sewer odor or a suspected pipeline break goes to the Town's Wastewater Division. Public Works: 480-503-6400, Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Fridays and after hours: call Gilbert Police Dispatch at 480-503-6500.
Our price for a main-line clog with an accessible cleanout is $99 (residential only, no pools; mention it when you call). Other drain problems start with a $99 service call, which counts toward the repair if you go ahead.
